The Manheim Downtown Development Group's Facade Improvement Program provides grant funding to eligible property owners that are located within the boundary of the downtown improvement area that is part of the Main Street Program.  The purpose of the program is to provide an incentive to building owners to invest funds into improving the visual character of the facade of the building through rehabilitation that will contribute to the overall historic streetscape of the downtown area.   The end goal of the program is to improve the visual image of the overall downtown area thereby attracting new businesses and customers to the downtown.

To date, the organization has awarded twenty-eight grants and over $34,000 since the program funding started in the spring of 2008.  The scope of work that has been approved included window replacement, window repairs, awning replacement, painting, door replacement and soffit and trim repair.  The investments that downtown property owners have totaled in excess of $350,000 and have made a significant visual impact on our downtown.
