On Wednesday, September 7th, the Manheim area started to experience some of the greatest devastation since Hurricane Agnes in 1972.  In the next 24 hours Manheim experienced extreme flooding causing damage to many residents and businesses.  Below is some information to assist residents of Manheim with the massive cleanup efforts underway.

Rt._72_at_Twin_Kiss_-_websize.jpgThank you for your support in the long term recovery efforts in the Manheim area.  Pastor Jim Roth is serving as the Fiscal Agent for the Manheim Area Long Term Recovery Committee (MALTR).  They have set up an account under the name of the Manheim Area Long Term Recovery Committee at Susquehanna Bank.  At this time, checks can be made payable to the MALTR and mailed to Zion Lutheran Church, 2 Hazel Street, Manheim PA  17545.  Contributions will be acknowledged with a tax exempt receipt.  They are currently working with FEMA and other identified and recognized disaster coordinating groups to oversee the recovery efforts in this area.  MALTR will conduct case management of unmet needs due to the flooding with individuals residing in the Manheim Area School District.  They are coordinating their efforts with the Lancaster County Long Term Recovery Committee.

If you have any questions, you can contact Pastor Roth at (717) 665-5880.
